they give us a few ideas on how to have a personal effect on your own greenhouse emmisions.
Let me sumorize for you.
let's say your just starting out. You just graduated from college and your getting married. As you plan your wedding, invite your family, but buy carbon offsets for there travel. Buy what you need for the wedding locally and buy some more carbon offsets. Once you purchase a house, don't buy a McMansion, instead buy a one bedroom, one bath home with a bamboo fence. Set the thermostat at 82.4 degrees in the summer to save energy. But if you stain your clothes with sweat your good because you need to buy all your recycled clothes at your local Goodwill or Salvation Army. Oh yeah, buy some more carbon offsets too.
Make sure your job allows you to work from home, but if that is just ot possible, buy some carbon offsets. And don't just buy any car, buy a hybrid with properly maintaned tire pressure. Invite all your neighbors to ride with you whenever possible, to reduce the carbon output of your hybrid. If you do have to drive by yourself, just buy some more carbon offsets. Make sure you use eco-friendly fuel in the car as well.
Once you have established all these things, lobby your government to create a flat carbon tax that will be imposed on everybody, preferably around 10%. Now that doesn't replace the need to by carbon credits, which by now should be a daily routine.
And let's not forget about the food we eat. We all know that cows create tons of carbon emmision, so you should all become vegetarians. This goes along nicely with the garden you put out back of your green home. You will have saved tons of pollution buy not driving to the store. But if you have to drive to the store, swing by the carbon credit warehouse, and just buy some extra's for the next time.
Finally, and probably most importantly, you should always do what California does. They are of course the smartest people on the plant, and all of the scientific research that means anything originates from their.
Just remember, we all can play a part in reducing our footprint from cabon emmisions. Thank GOD Time Magazine shows us the way.
