At Barack Obama's web-site, it seems he is trying to have it both ways on the issue of global warming.
"The issue of climate change is one that we ignore at our own peril. There may still be disputes about exactly how much is naturally occurring, but what we can be scientifically certain of is that our continued use of fossil fuels is pushing us to a point of no return. And unless we free ourselves from a dependence on these fossil fuels and chart a new course on energy in this country, we are condemning future generations to global catastrophe."
-Barack Obama
Speech in Chicago, 4/3/06
Sounds like we need to start thinking about change. And then the next paragraph says this:
Global warming is real, is happening now and is the result of human activities. The number of Category 4 and 5 hurricanes has almost doubled in the last 30 years. Glaciers are melting faster; the polar ice caps are shrinking; trees are blooming earlier; oceans are becoming more acidic, threatening marine life; people are dying in heat waves; species are migrating, and eventually many will become extinct.
Man...it sure sounds like we are doomed. So which is it?
Either way, if you run through his ideas about what he would do as president, some are actually not bad ideas. He offers some tax incentives and wants to make the federal government more efficient first.
Most are the same tired old democrat party-line ideas that will never solve anything. Cap and trades don't work, biofuels don't work in applications that matter, and talking more with the U.N. is just plain stupid.

And then again, Maybe the U.N. is where he really belongs. Not as President of the United States. Notice anything funny about the picture?
