Let Me Count The Ways

How many tips can you come up with to help save the planet? Ten? Fifty? One thousand-eight hundred and sixty four?

Here is a short list of those who have come up with some of their own.

The Boston Globe has 84!

Vanity Fair has 50 ways.

Time did one better!

The Londoner has 1001 ways to help, but you have to win.

Glamor Mag is only interested in the top ten.

You could buy this book to learn 750 ways to help.

At LighterFootsteps.com, all you have to do is write 3 letters.

Iowahawk has his own top ten list, and he's poking some fun at Al Gore.

Dayton, Ohio came up with 99 ways.

The Sustainability Institute has 4 not-so-simple-things to do.

ABC News "Planet Earth 2007-Seven ways to help save the world"

25 Ways from TreeHugger.com

DoSomething.com shares 27 ideas.

Obviously there are many different ways to help save our planet. Protecting our air and land is vital to the future of our existence. The planet is only so big and its resources are finite, so we need to learn to use them wisely and efficiently.
I like to make fun of things and joke about it all, but I do care. I care so much that last week I had new low-e windows installed in my home and they cost me a small fortune. We voted for a recycling service in our town last year, I abhor litter-bugs, and we reuse or recycle the best we can. But I drive a huge SUV, and I love it. Our house is bigger than we need, but wouldn't give it up for anything.
Most of all we love our country and we refuse to submit to a world body that threatens us with doomsday scenarios, unproven computer predictions, and U.N. baptized ex-vice presidents. The Kyoto treaty is worthless and they know it. Words are cheap, action is hard. Look at the EPA standards the heavy-duty diesel engine manufacturers in the U.S. have to meet today and in the next few years. Even the European union doesn't have to meet this strict of standards.
Americans don't need to be scared into being green.  I don't need to be told stories of death and destruction for me to do something. Give us something reasonable, and American citizens will do their part. Most of us don't buy scare tactics, but the U.N. will never stop trying. They will keep pushing until they have squeezed just a little more power out of your hands and into theirs. They cannot be trusted, and all their programs must be scrutinized.
    I have one idea...Think!
