This is new to me, but I can see why so many people are interested.
Nenana, Alaska is a few hundred miles north of Anchorage and it's a bett'n town. Each year for the past 90 years, the residents wager on when the ice will break on the river Tanana. Now Climitalogists are wanting to get the records to see if climate change is having an effect on when the ice breaks.
If you want to place a bet, you have until April 5th, and for $2.50 a chance to win what was last years take of over $303,000!
