Federal Judge Rules On Polar Bears

The Interior Depatment of the federal govenment has to decide in the next two weeks whether to list the polar bear as endangered because of global warming.

The ruling is a victory for conservation groups that claim the Bush administration has delayed a polar bear decision to avoid addressing global warming and to avoid roadblocks to development such as the transfer of offshore petroleum leases in the Chukchi Sea off Alaska's northwest coast to oil company bidders.

These nutters are step-by-step driving up the price on energy.

Dumb Ideas From Our Universities

I should start a list on the most hair-brain ideas to come from our universities in regards to global warming, like this one for instance.

Vacuum the CO2 right out of the air...
Climate

How about those things towering all over the planet. But wait, here are so more ideas:

That dream has pushed scattered groups of scientists to work on massive schemes to reengineer the planet.

One idea is to block sunlight, either by constructing artificial volcanoes to blast sulfur particles into the atmosphere or by launching millions of tiny satellites into space and arranging them into a giant mirror.

Another concept is sprinkling iron over the oceans to nurture plankton colonies that would absorb carbon dioxide from the air and transfer it to the depths.

   WOW!

Old Englishman Doubts Global Warming

Former Prime Minister Margart Thatcher's energy minister, Nigel Lawson, has come out with a new book, An Appeal to Reason: A Cool Look at Global Warming. He isn't buying it. Part way into the article came one of the unfortunante truths about Europe and it's unquestioned belief in global warming.

After serving on a House of Lords committee investigating the economics of global warming, Lawson himself concluded that the science behind it was not as certain as many people believe, and that the measures being taken to address the warming of the globe are economically damaging.
Then he wrote his book. “But despite being promoted by an outstanding literary agent,” he says, “the book was rejected by every British publisher to whom it was submitted – and there were a considerable number of them.” (It went to an American-owned publisher in the end.) The problem, Lawson believes, was that “to question global warming is regarded as sacrilege”. He gives a faint snort. “I hate intolerance. The only thing I won’t tolerate is intolerance.”

I guess in England, as an independent publisher, you don't dare publish a book questioning the IPCC, the U.N. or the global scientific communty about climate change; you would certainly never sell another book. Intolerance is too light a word for it.
I prefer stupidity.
