This writing should be located under Science-Fiction in the book stores due to its subject matter. But instead you will find it next to books on quantum physics and string theory; real science.
Past winners of the prestigious award have included Professor Stephen Hawking, Jared Diamond (twice), Bill Bryson and Stephen Jay Gould.
The Junior Prize for children’s books, also worth £10,000, was awarded to Rebecca Gilpin, Leonie Pratt and their illustrator Josephine Thompson, for Big Book of Science Things to Make and Do.
Quite the literary science clientele to be listed with.
The junior prize winner is the book most people need to read. It has real science that anyone could learn, and it is not going to be full of baseless conjecture and half truths.
