They keep
bringing up nuclear power as a viable option. The problem is, nobody wants to deal with the waste. But the best part is, they have their thoughts backwards.
Three decades later, fears of an atomic catastrophe have been largely supplanted by fears about global warming, easing nuclear energy into the same sentence as wind and solar power. Dogged by price spikes and an environmental assault on carbon dioxide emissions, fossil fuels are the new clean-energy pariah.
Who would have thought the day would come that the fear of an unproven climate theory would scare people more than an actual nuclear meltdown. What about a terrorist attack on a nuclear facility? And don't forget; where do we put the waste? In case you didn't know, today we store it on site. Great idea, huh?
Just things to think about.
